Cygnal Receives Highest Industry Honor, Wins 2015 Pollie Award

American Association of Political Consultants (AAPC) recognizes Cygnal for exceptional work during its annual conference in New Orleans

Last night at a ceremony in the heart of New Orleans, Cygnal was awarded a coveted Pollie Award from the AAPC, the industry’s highest honor bestowed upon political consultants at the national and international level. The firm was recognized in the category of “Best Use of Radio – State Legislature – Republican” for its exemplary work during the 2014 political season.

“Some view radio as a dying medium, but there are many areas in the country where it is a very effective way to reach target audiences,” stated Brent Buchanan, Managing Partner. “Democrat-turned-Republican, 40-year incumbent State Senator Gerald Dial did not have an easy race. This radio spot gave us an opportunity to let his wife soften his image and tell a positive story. Dial won by the largest margin in his political history.”

The AAPC announced this year’s winners at the 2015 Annual Pollie Awards & Conference on March 19 in New Orleans, LA. The Pollie Awards (Pollies) are bipartisan honors awarded annually by the AAPC to members of the political advertising and communications industry who have demonstrated superior work on behalf of their candidates and causes. A blind jury of their peers selects AAPC award winners. Esquire magazine has dubbed the Pollies as “…the Oscars of political advertising.”

With over 2,400 entries, this year’s contest was the largest in AAPC history. “It’s exciting to see the growth of the industry reflected in the Pollie Awards,” said AAPC President Art Hackney. “We continue to refine categories, making the contest easier to enter – yet harder to win. This year’s winners, including Cygnal, represent the very best in the business of politics.”

The annual Pollie Awards & Conference brings the leading political professionals in the world together to network and hear from top technology innovators, pollsters, pundits and service providers as the 2015 political cycle begins to heat up.
