Charles Russell is a Public Affairs and Political Strategist with over a decade of experience working with Republican candidates, non-profits, trade associations, and independent expenditures. He has done extensive work in communications, grassroots organizing, digital fundraising, and advertising. Charles was lucky enough to marry his summer love. Together, they have a daughter who never lets a moment pass without a laugh. When time allows, he enjoys a quick round of golf or wading into flooded timber in Arkansas.
What was your first job?
My first job was as a camp counselor in Northern Michigan. Every day in the summer, I would lead a group of kids in camp activities. There was always a new adventure to be had. I still return to the area to enjoy amazing sunsets and long summer days.
The best piece of advice I’ve ever been given is…
Rather than advice, what comes to mind is a quote that has been stomped over for generations. Still, a quote in its full glory that represents the importance of seeking all information and using every tool in your arsenal to succeed.

What motivated you to select this career path?
Change. The first political race I was a part of showed me the importance of a great team, a good message, and its significance in our communities. Here at Cygnal, I’m motivated daily as I work alongside a world-class team to create intelligence for action.
