California Poll Reveals Trump Gains Six Points Among Hispanic Voters as Harris Struggles Compared to Biden's 2020 Performance

WASHINGTON, D.C. (November 1, 2024) – Cygnal, one of the nation’s fastest growing and most accurate private polling firms, released the following California statewide poll (conducted Oct. 27-30) of 611 likely general election voters.

“Even in solidly blue California Trump has gained ground with Hispanic by six points, outperforming his 2020 numbers,” said Pollster and Director of Client Strategy, Chris Lane. “Harris is still supported two-to-one by Hispanics in the state, but her underperformance compared to Biden’s 2020 numbers tracks with her flatlining performance with this key group nationally.”

Here are Lane’s top takeaways:

Presidential Race: Harris (55%); Trump (31%); undecided (5%).

Senate Race: D-Adam Schiff (55%); R-Steve Garvey (32%); undecided (14%).

Vote Method: already returned ballot (37%); vote/return ballot in-person on Election Day (25%); vote by mail returning ballot as soon as possible (23%); vote by mail returning ballot closer to election (15%);

Top Issues: threats to democracy (25%); inflation and the economy (23%); illegal immigration and border security (13%); crime and public safety (9%).

Proposition 33: no (48%); yes (33%) undecided (18%).

Gov. Newsome Image: favorable (48%); unfavorable (47%).
