Poll: AOC More Popular than Schumer, Trump Image Improving, Republicans Decimating Democrats on Key Issue Trust, and More

WASHINGTON, D.C. (May 13, 2025) – Cygnal, one of the nation’s fastest growing and most accurate private polling firms, released the following monthly National Voter Trends (NVT) poll(conducted May 6-8) of 1,5000 likely midterm general election voters.    "Right now, voters trust Republicans more on the central issues like inflation and immigration, and the Democrat Party's brand is at a low point. It is clear that key voter groups feel like Congressional Democrats aren't speaking to their priorities. Forty-three percent of swing voters say inflation or government spending and waste should be the top priority for Congress, while only eight percent of swing voters think Congress should be focused on threats to democracy,” said Pollster John Rogers. “Democrats aren’t connecting with the average voter. ‘Fighting oligarchy’ is an abstraction, arguing for open borders is a losing message across the board, and neither addresses inflation and the economy.”

POLL: Democrats Continue to Struggle as Trump Maintains Strong Approval, Even in Light of Tariffs

WASHINGTON, D.C. (April 8, 2025) – Cygnal, one of the nation’s fastest growing and most accurate private polling firms, released the following National Voter Trends (NVT) poll (conducted April 1-3) of 1,500 likely general election voters.    “Democrats are making a lot of noise right now, but our latest national data shows they continue to be on the wrong side of issues where voters prefer the approach by Trump and Republicans,” said Pollster and Cygnal President, Brent Buchanan. “When you have nearly a quarter of Democrats refusing to say people who are here illegally as not having broken any U.S. law, or the 52 percent who support federal judges having power to overturn executive actions and laws, it shouldn’t be any wonder congressional Democrats continue to be 19 percent under water with Independents or why 42 percent of swing voters and 51 percent of parents prefer a Republican candidate in the upcoming midterms.”

POLL: 48 Percent Support Trump Negotiating Settlement to War in Ukraine as Optimism at Home Rises

WASHINGTON, D.C. (March 12, 2025) – Cygnal, one of the nation’s fastest growing and most accurate private polling firms, released the following National Voter Trends (NVT) poll (conducted Mar. 3-5) of 1,500 likely 2026 general election voters.      “President Trump is firing on all cylinders as he continues to fulfill his promises at home with decisive action on border security, he’s also making good on his promises to reassert America’s role on the international stage,” said Pollster and Director of Political Strategy, Mitch Brown. “Voters have an overwhelmingly favorable view of their country while also believing things are getting worse abroad. But they trust Trump on key areas like negotiating with Putin to end the war in Ukraine and getting tough on Iran and its proxies – not to mention countering China in economic power and military influence. Like many challenges on the home front, voters also understand international issues take time to resolve and that’s why, with just a few months into his second presidency, this new data shows Trump has plenty of room to chip away at these international conflicts and keep America first.”

Cygnal Continues Its #1 Private Pollster Ranking Streak…and a Bit of Our Story Leading to It

The polling business isn’t for the faint of heart…and I don’t even mean the public polls. That’s a fraction of what us private pollsters do.  Nate Silver, the godfather of ranking polling accuracy, just released his 2024 rankings over at the Silver Bulletin (and formerly through FiveThirtyEight).
