New Jersey Statewide Poll: Harris Underperforms Compared to Past Democratic Nominees

WASHINGTON, D.C. (October 26, 2024) – Cygnal, one of the nation’s fastest growing and most accurate private polling firms, released the following New Jersey statewide poll (conducted Oct. 23-24) of 600 likely general election voters.

“Trump is already performing near his 2020 numbers while Harris is underperforming Biden in 2020 by 5%,” said Pollster and VP of Polling, Brock McCleary. “No surprise Harris is leading, but she shows weakness among a group of Democrats who are female, diverse, working class, and middle-income. Forty percent of these voters have an unfavorable view of Harris.”

Here are McCleary’s top takeaways:

Presidential Race: Harris (52%); Trump (40%); undecided (4%); third party (4%).

Senate Race: D-Andy Kim (51%); R-Curtis Bashaw (32%); undecided (14%); third party (3%).

Vote Method: vote in-person on Election Day (55%); vote early in-person (21%); already voted (15%); vote absentee by mail (9%).
