AL-06 Runoff Flash Poll – 07/09/14

Palmer Leads DeMarco By Large Margin; Favorability Gap Noticeable

On July 9, 2014, Cygnal, a full-service campaign, research, and communications firm, released a Flash Poll for the AL-06 congressional Republican primary runoff election to be held on July 15, 2014. The survey has a statistical margin of error of 3.84%.

According to the survey, Gary Palmer has surged past Paul DeMarco leading the ballot test 59.6% to 29.3%. The results are similar in the individual counties within the district. Much of this can be attributed to Gary Palmer’s sky high favorability.

It should be noted that polling in primary runoffs or other similar potentially low or ultra-low turnout elections can be sporadic, but our track record over the past few years in these “special” elections has been highly accurate. However, a lot can still happen over the next six days to change these results. Remember, a poll is just a snapshot in time.
