Rizza Quezon

Associate, Data / GIF-Fanatic

Statistics was never Rizza’s first choice, but she believes it was her destiny. All her life, she was so passionate about writing, that most people expected her to be a journalist. But as they say, "life happens," and the universe conspired to make her play with numbers. She started her career as a Data Analyst in a US-based start-up company and is now working as Data Science Associate for a social innovation start-up in the Philippines, inspired to improve public services.

What was your first job?
When I was 18, I had a summer job working as a hotel reservation specialist. I learned so much and got to experience firsthand how hard it is to cater to a customer’s needs. But overall, it was fun to explore a lot of places - even if it is virtual!

Who is someone you admire?
Someone I admire would be one of my mentors, Lei Motilla. I am always amazed at how she can connect with a diverse set of people, her courage to take on risks, and her ability to make everyone around her shine like a superstar! She’s like a human jetpack - she can give you the acceleration and the push to go higher!

If I were a superhero, my superpower would be…
Healing. The last thing I would want to see is someone in pain - physically, emotionally, or in any other aspect.

The best piece of advice I’ve ever been given is…
All things work together for good. I always try to see things from a different perspective - when I struggle, when I feel challenged, when I don’t understand things happening. I would always like to think I am in a storyline, and all these things happen as a part of my character development.
