Sears’s favorability 2X Spanberger’s:
- Spanberger underperforms a generic Democrat with non-white voters by 8 points while Sears only trails a generic Republican with the same group by 2 points.
- Sears outpaces Spanberger’s net favorability by 7 points and among swing voters that lead ballons to 21 points.
The race is tight but favors Sears:
- Undecided voters on the named ballot break for Sears over Spanberger 2:1.
- In a state former VP Harris won by 6 points, Spanberger only leads Sears by the same margin while the generic ballot is tighter (D+3).
Majority support DOGE:
- Unexpectedly, 60% of Virginia households with a federal employee agree with the DOGE mission to streamline government and make it more efficient and responsible – this includes 46% of Democrats.
- More broadly, 71% back DOGE overall, including 76% of independents and 78% of swing voters.
