Virginia Governor Race Poll: Sears Positioned for Strong Showing

Below is the latest national polling memo from Cygnal (Feb. 26-27 | n=600 | ±3.98%).

Sears’s favorability 2X Spanberger’s:

  • Spanberger underperforms a generic Democrat with non-white voters by 8 points while Sears only trails a generic Republican with the same group by 2 points.
  • Sears outpaces Spanberger’s net favorability by 7 points and among swing voters that lead ballons to 21 points.

The race is tight but favors Sears:

  • Undecided voters on the named ballot break for Sears over Spanberger 2:1.
  • In a state former VP Harris won by 6 points, Spanberger only leads Sears by the same margin while the generic ballot is tighter (D+3).

Majority support DOGE:

  • More broadly, 71% back DOGE overall, including 76% of independents and 78% of swing voters.
