Alabama Primary Runoff Flash Poll – 07/10/14

Merrill, Beeker, Zeigler…and Jeb Bush Lead New Alabama Statewide GOP Poll

On July 10, 2014, Cygnal, a full-service campaign, research, and communications firm, released a Flash Poll for statewide Republican primary runoff election to be held in Alabama on July 15, 2014. The survey has a statistical margin of error of 3.42%.

According to the survey, the Secretary of State race will be the closest on the ballot. John Merrill currently leads (24.2-23.0) with a high number of undecideds, which is a trend across the board. Chris Beeker is ahead of incumbent Terry Dunn (30.8-22.4) in the Public Service Commission, Place 2 race. Jim Zeigler leads Dale Peterson for Auditor (30.5-21.5).

Interestingly, Florida Governor Jeb Bush (19.8) leads a large pack of potential 2016 GOP Presidential candidates on the Republican side. Following him are Ben Carson (12.6) and Rand Paul (10.5) with the rest scattered in single digits.

It should be noted that polling in primary runoffs or other similar potentially low or ultra-low turnout elections can be sporadic. Much can still happen over the next five days to change these results. Remember, a poll is just a snapshot in time.
